April 26th, Chelsie and I will be attending a new fest for me – PA Flavor. Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Brewer’s Association as well as the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association, the American Culinary Federation and the Department of Agriculture’s PA Preferred Program, PA Flavor is a celebration of good food and good beer. I’ve heard nothing be great things about this festival for years and am anxious to check it out.
Held at the PA Farm Show complex, expect to sample beers from more than 25 PA breweries as well as food from many restaurants and food suppliers. Pairing suggestions will be found throughout truly celebrating Pennsylvania’s agriculture and offerings. New participants this year include Liquid Hero Brewing, Righteous Felon Jerky, and Quips Pub.
There are two sessions for the day, VIP from 1-5 and regular session from 2-5. VIP session will run you $75 and includes limited edition beers, cooking with beer demonstrations, a mixologist session, and butlered hors d’oeuvres. Regular session tickets are $45. Both sessions include unlimited beer and food samples.
Things I’m looking forward to: this firkin made with peeps! My friend Colin up at Golden Avalanche Brewing (Kutztown PA) posted this picture on his Facebook page of little marshmallow peeps jumping to their doom inside of a firkin. Yep, I’m in.
