Well, I’m knee-deep in Harrisburg Beer Week planning and getting behind on getting these beers recorded. It looks like I’ll need to get two new brews in tomorrow to be caught back up. This project was much harder than I thought it would be! Crossing my fingers that the Midtown Tavern has two new brews on tap tomorrow otherwise I’m going to have to bust out some of the big guns from the beer fridge.
Tonight, I’m a busy bee working on blog posts, emails, event planning – it seems like it never ends. It is certainly much easier when you have a beer to come along the journey with you. Enter Desperate Times New Deal DIPA. I bought this when I visited two weeks ago and didn’t want to see it lose flavor hanging out in the firdge for too long waiting for me. When it comes to IPAs the fresher the better and there’s no better time than right now to open this brew.
It pours a lovely light orange in color and laced my IPA glass nicely. It smells like whole cone fresh delicious hops. The taste isn’t as flavorful as the aroma advertises though. It’s also a little thin for a double IPA. It’s definitely easy drinking and at 8.5% ABV I didn’t feel too bad about pairing this with the piles of emails and spreadsheets I was digging into.
