Brewery at Hershey Anniversary Party 2014

This Saturday August 16 2014 our good friends at The Brewery at Hershey are celebrating their first anniversay.

It seems like only yesterday, but In August of 2013, the vineyard added well-decorated homebrewer, Ryan DeLutis, who was ready to go “big time,” and The Vineyard at Hershey became The Vineyard & Brewery at Hershey. One year and 10,000 gallons of fresh, local, “PA Preferred” craft beer later, they are ready to celebrate the brewery’s first year’s successes which include sourcing ingredients from an on-site Brewer’s Garden, a portfolio of 13 unique craft beers and multiple small-batch “Special Ops” beers which benefit a local National Guard Unit, a 10 county wide distribution agreement with Westy’s Beer Distributors, and strong partnerships with many local businesses and charities.

On August 16th, the Brewery at Hershey will kick off its one year anniversary celebration, featuring a chili and craft beer pairing cookoff between local restaurants that benefits Juvenile Diabetes. In the “Battle of the Bowl,” local restaurants Flinchy’s, O’Reilly’s Pub, Smoke BBQ, Riverhouse, Chef Charlie Gipe from Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Café 1500, and Café Fresco will go head to head in a special chili cookoff where each chili has been paired with one of the Brewery’s craft beers. Guests will pay $10 at the door to benefit JDRF, and vote for their favorite chili and beer pairing. A Beer 5k to benefit Cystic Fibrosis will kick off the morning, which leads right into the chili cookoff. Live entertainment will take place throughout the day, and some special beer releases will follow. Thirsty yet? Check out our first access list:
